Incoming Student Scholarships

There is one application form for all scholarships. Download the application form.
Applications are not being accepted at this time, as the application period is closed.

To be considered for these scholarships you must complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). The FAFSA is available beginning October 1 and should be completed as soon as possible. The preferred filing date for Illinois State University is November 15. The FAFSA can be completed online at 

Applications must be submitted by Friday, February 10, 2017. All scholarships are for an academic year unless otherwise specified.


IT Family and Friends Scholarship:

Faculty, staff and others have contributed to the IT Family and Friends Scholarship. This $1000 scholarship is designed to attract high achieving students into our programs.

Progressive Impressions International Scholarships:

Four $2000 Progressive Impressions International Scholarships will be awarded to a combination of of incoming freshmen or transfer students and currently enrolled undergraduate IT students each fall semester. You must have some unmet financial need to receive the scholarship, but preference is given to students with a record of high academic achievement.

David Kephart Memorial Endowed Scholarship:

The David Kephart Memorial Endowed Scholarship is funded through multiple contributions collected from family, friends, and colleagues of David Kephart. One scholarship will be awarded to an incoming freshman each fall semester. You must have a record of high academic achievement and a demonstrated commitment to community service and/or leadership in volunteer organizations. This scholarship may be renewed for one additional year as long as the recipient continues to meet the criteria listed above.

State Farm Companies Foundation:

The State Farm Companies Foundation will award five $4000 scholarships to undergraduate students for the academic year. Preference will be given to freshman or transfer students accepted each fall semester. Scholarships are for the following areas of study:

  • Mobile Smart Phone/Tablet Development
  • Enterprise Computing Systems (Mainframe Support)
  • Security/Network Defense
  • Java Programming
  • Wide and Local Area Networking

John Deere Scholarship:

John Deere is awarding two $2000 scholarships with a focus on students from underrepresented groups, including women. Incoming freshman or transfer students are preferred, but the scholarships may be awarded to a current student if there is not an appropriate incoming student. Students must be US citizens or permanent resident and a minimum GPA of 3.0 is required.
