Thank you for your interest in applying to the Illinois State University School of Information Technology! Illinois State seeks a highly motivated, academically well-prepared, and diverse student body. Please review the following admissions information carefully.
All candidates wishing to pursue a major or minor in the School of Information Technology must first submit an Application for Admission to Illinois State. You can find detailed information about the application process by visiting the Office of Admissions' site.
The School of Information Technology (IT) welcomes transfer students from community colleges. We feel that the completion of a four year degree will enhance any studentís employability and enable community college graduates to avoid the "salary ceiling" that many companies have established for students without a bachelorís degree.
To make entering the IT major as painless as possible, we have put together a list of community college courses that will transfer. Students who successfully complete approved courses (grade of C or better) at a community college do not need to repeat the classes at ISU.
As you use this page, if you have any questions please contact our advisor, Laurie Helms.
We encourage all undergraduate students to make an on-campus visit. Visit the Office of Admissions website to make your reservation for an open house or campus information session.
Admission into one of the majors offered by the School of Information Technology can take place anytime during the year. Please note: The department reserves the right to maintain a balanced enrollment.
The department will notify students of their eligibility for the major. If you are not admitted, you will need to fill out another application to be considered again.
