All students in the School of Information Technology must complete a Professional Practice Requirement. Information contained here will assist you in registering for and submitting evaluations for the Professional Practice requirement of your degree program.
If you need more information, please feel free to contact the School of Information Technology Advising Office.
Students enrolling in an internship must do so prior to the last semester of classes. The Internship is an interaction of education and employment that allows the student to understand how education prepares the student for full time employment. Students who wait until their last semester to enroll in the internship will be denied admission to the program. These students will complete an alternate requirement. To learn about the alternate requirement, see the IT Advisor.
In order to more efficiently distribute announcements of internship opportunities, the School of Information Technology has established an email listserv specifically for the distribution of internship related information. Subscribe to the IT-INTERNSHIP-L listserv to receive internship related info. You can find complete instructions at this link.
Registration for the Professional Practice component of your degree is an easy process.
In order to receive a grade for IT-398 Professional Practice, the student is responsible for ensuring that the Student Evaluation of Studentís Experience and the Employerís Evaluation of Studentís Job Performance are submitted to the School of Information Technology and that the student exit interview is completed with the Professional Practice Faculty Coordinator.

Students who will be unable to meet the deadline, due to some unusual circumstance, must contact the Faculty Coordinator, Mr. Tal Parmenter to make special arrangements for submission of the required evaluations.
Note: The online evaluation forms will only be accessible during the evaluation submission period. During the final week of each academic term, Students enrolled in IT-398 will be provided the opening and closing dates of the submission period, as well as detailed instructions for submitting evaluations. After both evaluations have been submitted, the student must complete an Exit Interview with the Faculty Coordinator, Mr. Tal Parmenter.
