The Center for Cybersecurity Research and Education (CCRE) at Illinois State advances information assurance education at the university, in the state, and nationwide.
What We Do
Data is widely shared and stored on technology. The internet, computers, networks, and various databases hold much of our personal information. Information assurance protects these systems from viruses, identify theft, and cyber attacks. Our center combats attacks by:
- educating future professionals with quality programs
- supporting other academic departments with technology education
- being a leader in research and information technology application
Recognition
The Department of Homeland Security and the National Security Agency designated CCRE as a Center of Academic Excellence in Information Assurance Education. This makes Illinois State a national leader for information assurance education.
